Internship/Mentorship

We have high expectations for our interpreters, training interns, and pre-certified interns and to be able to meet and exceed them is crucial.

​

When you work with B3 Interpreting Services, you are partnering with a team of highly qualified interpreters who know how to communicate professionally and accurately, while also training you to do the same. 

​

B3 accepts student interns from accredited ITPs. Interns go through a formal interview process with a skills assessment and ethical scenario discussion. 

​

Once onboarded, interns work alongside B3's Interpreter Mentors, who are specially trained to work with interns and hone their skills prior to graduation and certification.

​

Interns will attend on-site jobs with B3 Interpreter Mentors where they will observe highly qualified and BEI Advanced Certified (or higher) interpreters, receiving hands-up time and practice as is fitting. B3 aims to support interns in the development of their interpreting skill, knowledge of the profession, and ethical awareness on-the-job prior to graduation and certification.

Internship Coordinator: Leela Batterson - BEI Master & Medical Certified Interpreter

Experience unparalleled one-on-one mentorship with B3's owner, Leela Batterson, a BEI Master & Medical Certified Interpreter.

​

Interns can receive weekly one-on-one mentoring, covering a wide range of interpreter skills and business topics. Sessions include, but are not limited to, receptive skill-building, expansion techniques, interpreting vs transliterating, BEI Performance test preparation, employment types, tax preparation, and invoicing.
